Question.1: In what ways is an ant’s life peaceful?
Solution: An ant’s life is peaceful; because each ant does its work intelligently and bravely and never fights with other ants of the same group. Each does its own work and does not interfere in the other’s work. So ants live together in peace and harmony. 

Question.2: How long does it take for a grub to become a complete ant?  
Solution: It takes five to six weeks for a grub to become a complete ant. 

Question.3: What jobs are new ants trained for?
Solution: New ants learn the duties of workers, cleaners, soldiers and builders from old ants.  

Question.4: Name some other creatures that live in anthills.  
Solution: The greenfly, beetles, lesser breeds of ants, etc. are some of the creatures that live in anthills.

Question.5: Mention three things we can learn from the ‘tiny teacher’. Give reasons for choosing these items.
Solution: We can learn things such as hard work, sense of duty, and loyalty to the motherland from the ‘Tiny Teacher’.
Hard work makes the life of an ant so organized and disciplined. If we want to lead a proper life we must not shy away from working hard. Sense of duty is very important because if everyone does his or her work sincerely, there will be no chaos. The most important is loyalty to the land where one lives. We must be always loyal to our people and our country.

Question.1 (i): What problems are you likely to face if you keep ants as pets?  
Solution: If we keep ants as pets, we are likely to face the following problems:
1. They may fall in our cooked and uncooked food and create problems.
2. They may eat and destroy our eatables like sugar, vegetables, fruits, sweets etc.
3. They bite us and may severely harm especially the new born babies.
4. Since the wall-lizards eat ants, the number of wall-lizards may increase at home which may further add to our problems.

Question.1: Name some of the qualities of an ant.
Solution: An ant is a hard-working, intelligent, disciplined and loyal creature.
