and Class 12th Board Exam 2021 | Covid-19 Updates
India reported a record single-day rise of 1,84,372 new coronavirus infections pushing the total tally of cases to 1,38,73,825, while the active cases surpassed the 13-lakh mark, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Wednesday (14th April’21).
The CBSE board Exams for Class X and XII which were to be held from 4th May to 14th June, 2021 are cancelled and postponed respectively. A decision Class 12 exams whether to be held will be taken only after CBSE reviews the Covid-19 situation on 1st June’21.
CBSE will bring a
public notice of at least 15 days ahead if Class 12 examinations are taken afterwards.
For Class 10 students, results will be prepared on the basis of an objective criterion to be developed by the Board. Any candidate who is not satisfied with the allocated marks will be allowed to write an exam as and when conditions are conducive, said the Ministry.
The decision was
taken by Prime Minister Sri Narendra Modi, Education Minister Ramesh
Pokhriyal Nishank and CBSE officials after a prolonged meeting.
During the meeting with PM, the education ministry and PMO
had discussed several modes including holding exams in online mode. The PM’s review meeting came amid rising demands from
students, parents and State governments for the exams to be cancelled or
postponed because of continuously rising cases of Corona Virus (Covid-19).
